Last weekend my crazy mom went to PetSmart and fell in love with a kitten. She adopted it and took it home. My dad was not happy about this! Then when it decided that my dad's head was the most comfortable place in the house to sleep, he decided that this was the last straw. So my mom got this bright idea that since my daughters loved this kitten, maybe we could take it. So this week we are "babysitting" this kitten. I say babysitting, because the girls think that we are just watching the kitten for grandma, and it will be going back to grandma's on Saturday. Since my daughters are only 2 and 3 years old, we thought it would be a great opportunity to try it, and if it doesn't work out, we won't lose anything. The cat will go back to my mom's house and she says she'll keep it no matter what my dad says, because she loves it so much. So far things are going well. I haven't had a house cat in several years, and am enjoying having a kitten that will snuggle up in my lap and purrr. She's a really sweet cat and miraculously hasn't scratched either of the girls...yet! She patiently lets them carry her around. Poor thing, Emily was actually carrying her around upside down the other day. I think she has found a new home. Lucky for my dad!
